In 2024, Tainan is set to be bustling with activities to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the establishment of Fort Zeelandia in Anping by the Dutch East India Company in 1624. Numerous events and activities will be held around the theme of Tainan's 400 years. Various festivities and celebrations will take place, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and look forward to the next century.

The Lantern Festival in 2024 will also be held in Tainan and take place in two major areas: the "High-Speed Rail Exhibition Area" and the "Anping Exhibition Area." Additionally, the newly opened Anping Maritime City, the birthplace of Taiwan's unique "grandpa slippers" in 2007, which was subsequently dismantled, has been revitalized. The architecture and design incorporate the footprints and trading history left by various countries during the Age of Discovery in different parts of the world, as well as Tainan's Anping district.
