A lotus

2024-02-27

When the mind is pure, lotus flowers bloom everywhere.

With a pure mind, lotus flowers bloom everywhere; One flower, one world, one leaf, one Tathagata.

In different stages of life, we have different realizations. Events that occur in each stage cannot be repeated, we can only respond with our current state of mind and experience. During the Tang Dynasty, the hermit Pang Yun wrote a verse, "With a pure mind, lotus flowers bloom everywhere; One flower, one world, one leaf, one Tathagata." The thoughts originating from the heart and our actions affect karma. If we can practice pure thoughts, everything will be fine.

There's a saying, "In life, everyone is on their own journey. Some understand, and some don't." Most of life is spent working for livelihood, careers, and families, repeat day after day. Time waits for no one, and we see the cycle of life, including birth, aging, illness, and death. The hardest part is laying down persistent motive. Till the age, we must learn to lay down and seek inner peace and tranquility.

One article that stated, "‘Crossing over’ is a kind of broad-mindedness that others may not understand. It is a letting go from deep heart. Therefore, there's no need to confide your troubles to anyone because nobody truly shares your feelings. Only you know your own suffering and only you can heal your own wounds. Life is about self-transcendence and self-choice." Each person is their own ferryman in their life journey.
